Welcome to the Inaugural International Table Setting Competition, a distinguished assembly of craftsmanship, creativity, tradition, and the West Coast’s newest competitive setting event. From among the many honors to be awarded, one table shall rise above the field and receive the highest distinction: Best in Show, conferred upon the most exceptional presentation of the day. This prestigious event will be taking place at the historic San Francisco Mint on June 4th and 5th.

Design a table inspired by a specific decade with period-correct details. Showcase family heirlooms or flaunt your antique collections. This category is about paying homage to the table setters that came before us and about Inspiring the next generation after us.

Bring the magic of the silver screen to life in the Magical Movie Moments category. Reimagine an iconic scene from film history and translate it into a table setting worthy of its own close-up. Set the stage, capture the atmosphere, and let your table tell a story that’s ready for the camera.

Unleash your imagination and creativity with no limits. This is your opportunity to design a table setting inspired by any theme you choose, from timeless elegance to bold, avant-garde expression. Showcase your unique style, innovative techniques, and eye for detail as you transform an ordinary table into an unforgettable visual experience.
Exhibitors will follow correct placement of components based on formal place setting rules, including proper length linens. Correct procedures can be found in meal management textbooks and specialty books on table settings. For informal dining, napkins can be arranged in “fun, non-traditional” ways but cannot deter from the overall effect of the table. Your dinnerware and flatware must match the menu.
